d4rkm4tter: [sent via mail] Hello Joshka,
Thank you for such a rapid response!
You are doubtless a much better Go player than I am (because I need to use resources like Easy Kill on Tsumego Hero in order to improve). And yes, the instructions are indeed "Black to play", so a "best possible outcome" is what is expected.
However: This collection is called "Easy Kill" and as far as I can tell, all the other exercises in the collection have "Xxxxx to kill" as the instruction. As the problem stands, black has no "kill", as such. I don't see a ko threat for black shown elsewhere on the board in this problem. The idea of exploiting a ko threat elsewhere on the board is not obviously part of the solution.
Perhaps this problem could be moved to a more advanced collection, so that it does not cause confusion for those who expect all the problems in a collection called "Easy kill" to be resolved with an easy kill : )
Best regards,
James
d4rkm4tter: This problem gives now the hint, that it is ko. It should remove most of the confusion that new players have here. Maybe we replace it later with a no ko problem.
Bryant: I think Wayne is right. After (B1, D2, A2), A1 by white is ko. If black can't find a ko threat then white is alive, right? Can someone please tell me what I'm missing here?
Farkas: I don't exactly understand your comment. The task is: Black to play (and try to kill). The best solution is kill with ko. In this regard it is irrelevant if there is any ko-threat on the board.
I couldn't follow your comment. Provide sequence.
