TherapieGo: The monkey jump doesn't allow unconditional life, the best answer for the attacker is B18 and not B17 (after playing D18 as the first move for the attacker of course), I've put all the refutations to show why with B17 the attacker dies unconditionally. However, 2-2 is really the best resistance because the defender can live with a ko that he takes first.
caranthir: D18A18B18B17 etc. seems right. Also, if D18A18B18A17, we should play C19; then E19 which we respond by either F19 or B17 and there's a ko either way. D18A18A17B17 would revert to the variatitions already shown dead. ------ I added your refutations of D18A18B17.
John: I think that defender can live unconditionally after the monkey jump, see sgf. The best result for the attacker seems to be the 2-2 point, leading to ko that the attacker takes first.
Ivan Detkov: I added your moves. It is complicated though. I am not 100% confident that everything is correct now.
