What is the problem with playing on the 1-1 point instead of the 3-3 point to finish this variation? Isn't it a seki all the same?

caranthir:
Eventually we must play at 3-3 anyway when outside liberties are filled. Therefore playing at 1-1 will result in a dead shape.
